Ludwigsburg-based agency what when why organises a long-service celebration for the Voith Group at the Voith Arena in Heidenheim
The guests of honour at the 2022 Voith long-service celebration have had close ties with the manufacturer of machinery for the paper industry, technical equipment for hydroelectric power stations, and drive and braking systems for many years. 25, 40 or even 50 years. Reason enough to thank them for their loyalty, dedication and passion with a unique event. The team at what when why chose the Voith Arena in Heidenheim – the home ground of second-tier football club 1. FC Heidenheim – as the ideal setting. The event included a walk through the players’ tunnel and a light show to round things off. And as a special surprise, the successful coach Frank Schmidt himself took to the stage to speak about success, solidarity, length of service and team spirit.
Board says thank you
The official part of the event was staged by the team from the live communication specialists right in the middle of the stadium. The 300-plus guests were seated in the VIP stand. On a central stage, Voith CEO Toralf Haag and Matthias Lindemann, Voith Senior Vice President Corporate Human Resources, thanked the long-serving employees in attendance. The event then moved to the Jubilarsclub for a joint celebration. This is also where the second highlight of the evening took place. The what when why team had created a special remake of the successful TV show DingsDa for the anniversary celebration. Children from the Voith nursery school explained complex terms from the world of Voith. There was plenty of laughter.
A personalised jersey as a farewell gift
As a farewell gift, each participant was presented with a personalised football jersey. “After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the anniversary celebration was our first major live event. And it confirmed what we already knew. Digital formats are an important addition to the marketing mix. But the face-to-face experience and the emotions of a live event can never be replicated online,” says Sascha Jaite, a member of the what when why management team, summarising the evening from the Ludwigsburg-based agency’s perspective.
