How recruiters are making their voices heard through live communication
The first Recruiter Slam in Stuttgart hits the nail on the head when it comes to the needs of growth-oriented companies in Germany. They are looking for: junior staff, skilled workers, and recent graduates. And they need plenty of them.
But not every applicant is a good fit for the company, and even more importantly: the ‘good ones’ can now choose which company they want to join. Good times for qualified employees. An increased need for action on the part of employers.
On the new credibility
The pressure on company managers is mounting, and modern marketing methods, employer branding and e-recruiting have long since found their way into HR recruitment. Yet the personal impression remains decisive. “Seeing is believing” is the formula for success in live communication. Or, to put it another way: what you experience yourself becomes credible. Credibility breeds goodwill. And goodwill leads to a desire to engage more closely with the company.
RecruiterSlam as a trend-setting event
The first Stuttgart RecruiterSlam strikes right at the heart of contemporary HR marketing. A new event format modelled on the highly fashionable ‘poetry or science slams’. The idea is both simple and ingenious: the recruiter, as a ‘slammer’, introduces themselves and their company, and the interested employees of tomorrow decide ‘live’ who is the best performer. And if all goes well, the slamming recruiter not only wins the competition but also captures the audience’s greatest interest in their company. In any case, however, all slammers – including their companies – gain respect and plenty of attention. And that’s what counts!
Michael Witt (professional recruiter at Voith Industrial Services) and Tobias Meinhold (slam organiser and owner of KultuReservoir.com) are the inventors of the RecruiterSlam. They are driving their ‘start-up’ forward with great energy and personal initiative. “There is no more direct or contemporary way to address this highly sought-after target group than the RecruiterSlam,” says Michael Witt. And Tobias Meinhold adds, “With our expertise as recruiters and as organisers of slam contests, we can reach companies and employees alike.”
Professional support
To ensure the event’s success both in the planning stages and on the day itself, Witt and Meinhold have brought on board the nationally active event specialists “what when why – Unternehmen erleben”, headquartered in Stuttgart: “As experts in HR events and live communication, I was immediately enthusiastic about the idea of the RecruiterSlam,” says Carsten Knieriem, managing director of the agency. “The organisers’ professionalism and conviction are a perfect match for our way of thinking and working. We’re looking forward to a fantastic premiere!” Knieriem continues.
Premiere on 9 April in Stuttgart
9 April is the big day. Well-known companies – from Bayer to Telekom and Voith – are taking part. The Phoenix Hall on the grounds of Stuttgart’s Römerkastell is fully prepared and ticket sales are going like clockwork. It will be fascinating to see how this innovative format develops further.
