Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) is one of the biggest banks in Germany and an important partner for medium-sized businesses, international groups and public institutions. With their strong local roots and their international approach, LBBW faces the challenge of having to continuously adapt to dynamic market requirements and pursue new and innovative paths.
Over a period of four years, www provided LBBW with guidance and support during their change process.
Between 300 and 800 leaders were invited to meet up on an annual basis for the LBBW leadership conference, to discuss the opportunities and challenges at LBBW during the upcoming twelve months.
The central focus of this change event concept was the consistent activation and involvement of the participants. To involve them and turn them into competent ambassadors of change. Through the close collaboration between LBBW and www, there emerged an exciting mixture of thematically deep workshops, savvy talks as well as a variety of workshops with for instance a “fishbowl format”.
The involvement of the participants was also achieved through interactive theme expos with 28 stands as well as various business entertainment programs such as a business play on the topic of agility which was amusing as well as an incentive for critical thought. Here the factual and the emotional perspectives regarding agility were poignantly linked.
A constant focus: The critical exchange and discussions between the participants on the important topics included in these forward-thinking conferences.
The exciting dramatic structure of the event also ensured that participants communicated openly and freely from the very start, allowing the dialogue between them to be effectively enhanced. An innovatively staged award ceremony with a “TV total” (German TV show) format honored participants for their achievements, followed seamlessly by the evening event. In custom-built “posh beer gardens”, with the world’s biggest barbecue truck, LBBW leaders used the opportunity and the pleasant atmosphere to chat about their impressions and insights.
The special challenge for www was to not only inform LBBW leaders but to actively involve them in the change process. This required precise planning and innovative conceptualization to ensure that every activity was informative as well as emotionally appealing.
