Award ceremony: "European Inventor of the Year"
There are a lot of innovation prizes. But when the European Patent Office devotes its energies to an event with such a high level of public visibility, then the communication strategy and the quality and innovative power of the event need to have their own special language. This was the foundation stone for a highly successful series of events that has attracted a great deal of attention around the world and that year after year honours the most innovative minds in Europe.
The car is a theme that is still one of the key sources of innovation in the global economy. And there is no other location that connects both the pioneer spirit of the early days and the great force of European innovation in quite the same way that the Auto World Museum in Brussels does.
High quality, entertaining, contemporary and unmistakeable – these were the criteria for demonstrating the importance of European strength in innovation to the 350 international multipliers from the worlds of business, industry, the media and politics. At the same time, the inventors were to be recognised for their world-changing inventions by the country’s highest office in this field.
From the very beginning, an innovative communications strategy was pursued to address each of the multipliers via their own specific area of interest.
The award ceremony was staged in a coherent way to present the location at its most beautiful.
Industry 4.0: start-up the future
A highly topical issue is being taken up by the VDMA’s Alliance 4.0 and developed into a series of a events collaboration with www.
The idea: selected start-ups present their solutions to decision-makers from established industrial companies. A total of 300 participants hold discussions on the products and solutions being offered by approx. 30 hand-picked start-ups within the range of areas covered by Industry 4.0.
For this event, managers from companies from the engineering and plant construction sector were invited to follow up on the five-minute pitches made by the start-ups and to then explore them in further depth on their respective exhibition stands or in the communications areas.
In line with the slogan “Meet your Match”, this event not only gave rise to a lot of interesting conversations – contacts made at the event have in the meantime also had concrete results in the form of some successful collaborations.
The future has long since been launched and this successful event format is enjoying increasing popularity.
Voith: Event marathon for all target groups
Voith is considered one of the world’s most innovative engineering companies. This is not only reflected in the consistently high number of new patents. As a further landmark, and evidence of Voith’s innovative strength, they have now opened a Paper Technology Centre (PTC) in Heidenheim. Voith wanted to increase awareness of this major new investment in their future as a global company and find a fitting way of celebrating its opening.
As a result, various event formats were planned and implemented which took place over the course of three consecutive days.
Overall, there were eight connected events with target groups of between 80 and 3,500 participants and the public.
From the ceremonial unveiling of the building, the press conference, both exclusive and public guided tours of the PTC, an exhibition highlighting the particular areas of competence of Voith Paper, an international client convention, a VIP and client gala, through to a big party for employees and former employees – none of their target groups were left behind on this journey into the future.
Definitely a highlight: the live public unveiling of the PTC followed by a firework display with live transmission to the multimedia client event.
Interwoven into the staging concept: the official handover of the keys by the chairman of the board to the divisional director.
The climax of the emotionalising client event: the artistic media staging which focused on the history and development of paper.
Voith Turbo: continuity in high performance
As Voith Turbo are one of the market leaders for drive technology, their products and solutions can be found in use on our streets, railways, waterways and in industry.
The company invited the users of their products – their clients – to their headquarters in Heidenheim an der Brenz for a special event.
In the context of an innovative client convention with an exhibition showing the products and solutions of Voith Turbo, market requirements and client needs were discussed, and approaches were developed for concrete solutions for future products.
This was followed by a celebration of this intensive and successful collaboration with clients who had travelled to the event from all over the world.
Emotional highlight: in the course of an evening event with a focus on involvement, the retiring CEO thanked all those present for the years of success under his aegis and at the same time instated his successor in his new role.
The production hall which had been redesigned especially for the event provided the ideal venue for this special occasion. The media and live performances that were embedded into the dramatic concept made use of the entire three-dimensional space of the venue and in doing so reflected the universality of Voith Turbo’s products in their areas of application.
